Many of you have let me know that some of my image pairings & arrangements pop up in other venues such as Facebook Swipe groups (esp. the great COMICS SWIPES Facebook group). Well, I'm flattered the posts are popular and that people enjoy PANELOCITY's swipes and "inspired bys", regardless of where they are presented. After all, the Internet is meant for sharing, right?

Fantastic Four #147 Part 3 - Sub-Mariner, Black Bolt and Klaw

Let's take a look at the five panels that comprise page 15 of FF #147.

Breaking it down:

The following: Maybe, maybe not...What do you think?
These next sequences are more in the "somewhat based on" category. Perhaps inspired by?  Namor's positioning in this panel tier could be based on Black Bolt and Reed's in a tier from Fantastic Four #47.

In addition, the detailing for those two #147 panels may be based on Kirby's Namor in Captain America #112. I love these Namor panels! ❤

Fantastic Four #147 Part 1

Some years ago over at the Two Girls, A Guy, and Some Comics blog when we discussed Fantastic Four #147,  I pointed out some Buckler panels that were based on Jack Kirby's Silver Age work. Well, as the saying goes: there's plenty more where that came from!

The above panel seems to include poses from these two panels from FF #51.

Many have noted a visual similarity between Namor's Romita Sr.-designed 1970s garb and a certain Inhuman. ;)

It wouldn't surprise me if this same issue, Fantastic Four #78, also inspired the GSSS sequence below--check out the imbibing; Bruce Banner and Johnny's expressions; Ben convivially slapping Bruce/Johnny on the back, etc. What do you think?

Giant-Size Super-Stars #1 Part 1

Sure, it's a given that a lot of scenes in GSSS #1 were inspired by Fantastic Four #25-6 (another Hulk-Thing slugfest)...so what say we take the less traveled road here. For example, here are a couple of panels from 1974's Giant-Size Super-Stars #1 that looked to 1967's Fantastic Four #68 for inspiration.
