Many of you have let me know that some of my image pairings & arrangements pop up in other venues such as Facebook Swipe groups (esp. the great COMICS SWIPES Facebook group). Well, I'm flattered the posts are popular and that people enjoy PANELOCITY's swipes and "inspired bys", regardless of where they are presented. After all, the Internet is meant for sharing, right?

And take a closer look at the #147 Subby; doesn't it look like he and Wyatt Wingfoot could be brothers? ;) Here, the head tilt, neck and chest match up nicely.

FF#147 panel 4 is a fairly standard, ubitiquous image of an irritable, impatient Reed.

Fantastic Four #147 (1974) Buckler
There are numerous examples of angry Reed faces throughout Kirby's FF run.  Given the head tilt plus the fact that we've already come across many other #47-inspired images in #147, let's stick with #47 and go with this Reed face from--you guessd it--FF #47.

Tales of Suspense #89 (1967) Gil Kane
Re the Kirby-Kane Caps: I came across these two Tales of Suspense panels some years ago in Arlen Schumer's fascinating book The Silver Age of Comic Book Art.  As many Marvelites know, back in the 1960s Stan Lee wanted new Marvel artists to study Jack Kirby's work and/or draw over Kirby layouts, so that the artists would get the hang of the dynamic Marvel house style. Kane seems to have had no problem doing just that, as well as adding his own distinctive style to the art!
